'that 90s show’ - south australia’s leading,

live 90s music experience -

is proud to present a night celebrating

alanis morissette’s break-out album

‘jagged little pill’.

honouring one of the most iconic albums of the 90s,

this carefully executed show brings back the memories

and the emotions felt, all those years ago.

the album was released in 1995 and
is one of the best-selling albums of all time.

it was nominated for nine grammy awards,
winning five, including album of the year,
making the 21-year-old morissette, at the time,
the youngest artist to win the top honour.

rolling stone ranks it at #69 on its 2020 list of "the 500 greatest albums of all time"
and says of the album:

‘jagged little pill' is like a 90’s version of

carole king's tapestry:
a woman using her soft-rock voice to

sift through the  emotional wreckage of her youth,

with enough heart and song craft
to make countless listeners feel the earth move.

ben whittington, creator of 'that 90s show'

recollects - 'the idea of dedicating an entire show

to alanis' jagged little pill had been a dream of mine

since early 2010...

i always wanted to do a tribute

to the album and after creating the

'that 90s show' band in 2016 it was just a matter of time to find the right people to allow this concept

and dream come to life'

unable to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the album in 2020 due to a world pandemic,

in april 2021, this dream finally came to life

and was worshipped, as it so truly deserves,

on the gov's stage, in adelaide, south australia.

the vibe of the room was electric.
every single body crammed into the room,
singing the album top-to-bottom, word-for-word.

'we couldn't possibly keep this tribute to the one night.. so taking it around the country.... just makes sense...we want to make alanis proud, so we will share her masterpiece as best as we can, to as many as we can. 26 years later, the album, the songs, the lyrics

are still so relevant and hard hitting... we need to keep it alive.. even if it's just for us'

jlp about

"Last night was the exact opposite of all the shitty things that happen to whoever the song Ironic is about.

This album came out in 1995, and I don't think it left my CD player until 1998. It hit hard and last night was a rush of memories and it smashed me in the feels repeatedly.

It was amazing. You're amazing. The band are amazing. I am so grateful to know you guys and what made this show more memorable is seeing how much of yourselves was poured into creating it."

"Friday Night - Was the first real return to rock shows since early last year when dreaded Rona visited and consequently overstayed her welcome.

The team from That 90's Show & Rachel Vidoni

delivered a show like no other. The long awaited tribute to one of the biggest albums of the 90's and one that still holds up today."

"Jagged Little Pill is an album that I know for sure never left my CD player for a number of years. Alanis Morissette

wrote an album full of songs that resonated with so many people around the world.

It turned 25 last year, and it was celebrated in the best possible way on Friday night. Along with a phenomenally talented band, Rachel Vidoni sung every word from the heart and had every member of the audience singing along with her.

Every song."

"A truly remarkable and memorable night and with 400+ people in the crowd, it felt awesome to finally be back at The Gov, rocking out and celebrating music just how it should be.

With a brilliant opening set, featuring memorable songs from Pearl Jam, Lenny Kravitz, Foo Fighters and Oasis, it set the tone for what was a truly epic night of music & memories."

"Loved it! You did her (Alanis) proud!! Those songs brought back feelings from that year, I lived with that album... A part of my life's soundtrack!"

"The powerhouse vocals of Rachel Vidoni brought the ‘Jagged Little Pill’ album back to a live and excited audience on Friday night. The Gov was pumping... with everyone making the most of the dance floor.

‘That 90s Show’ got the crowd hyped with pop and rock tracks of the decade before Rachel hit centre stage for the main show. The crowd were die hard Alanis Morissette fans, singing and dancing along to every song. Rachel captured the essence of Alanis not only in her vocals but stage presence, bringing the audience along for the journey. My personal favourite, the ‘Secret Song’ [Your House] is where Rachel’s incredible tone could be truely appreciated above the audience sing along. There was electric energy in the room which the band and Rachel bring to every show they perform."

"For many of us, Alanis Morissette's songs [were] the soundtrack of our teenage-hood: heartbreaks, betrayals, love, life, frustrations, mistakes and everything in between, you name it…..

So don't be surprised if I fell 'Head Over Feet' for Alanis Morissette's tribute concert Jagged Little Pill on Friday, April 23 at the GOV. I couldn't help it and it's all 'That 90s Show' fault!

Imagine [400] people reunited to dance and sing along at a time when dance floors and concerts venues are only coming to life again….  'That 90's Show's got it all figured out [with] Adelaide's finest talents in its pocket! Featuring a range of fantastic musicians: Rachel Vidoni (lead vocals), Ben Whittington (vocals, guitar), Anthony Zillante (guitar), Lee Nash (bass), Russell James (keys), Hayden Ryan (drums), Zillah Bull (backing vocals), the show is the promise of a music trip on memory lane!

Before swallowing that ‘jagged little pill’, the show opens with a set of 90s favourites and it warms the room instantly; The band is really great, a powerhouse of sounds and energy, the repertoire works beautifully, and the dance floor is already packed! ….when the longing for Alanis has built up and the show kicks in, all the eyes are turned on the stage and as she [Rachel Vidoni] hits the first notes, the audience is almost caught by surprise! [She] has put a lot of work and heart in this performance, interacting with the audience, singing, playing the guitar and harmonica….the quality and chemistry between the different musicians on the stage is incredible and definitely allows her to rise and shine!

It is a beautiful melting pot of rock sounds: Rachel's voice is powerful and vibrant, the guitar and drums bring an amazing and deep energy sweetened somewhat by the keys and enhanced by the bass.

The crowd is ecstatic, each song of the album is full of meanings and memories, beautifully played and interpreted. It is amazing to watch each member of this 7piece band performing and embracing the music. And you can see that everyone on stage is having a blast and loving each second of this wonderful show….

Jagged Little Pill performed by 'That 90s Show' is a must-see for anyone who loves Alanis Morissette, great rock music……"
